FIGURE SKATING

As your skater advances through the Learn To Skate USA programs here at The Skate School at Fox Valley, there are many opportunities that they can take advantage of to become more involved in figure skating.

Private Lessons— Private lessons are available to all skaters. Please see our Private Lessons page for more information.

Skating Shows— The Skate School at Fox Valley has two ice skating shows each year that are available to all skaters in our program. The Holiday Show takes place in December. Each skater has an opportunity to perform a solo to their favorite holiday song. The Annual Spring Ice show consists of group numbers and solos for skaters at all levels. It is a themed show with multiple performances typically held the first weekend in May. For more information about both of our shows, please visit our Ice Show page or email Stefania at Stefania@fvia.us.

Learn To Skate USA Local Competitions—About once a month there is a LTS USA competition somewhere in the Chicagoland area. These competitions are available for all skaters taking classes from the LTS 1 level up through Free Skate 6. Typically, a skater will work with one of our staff coaches to create a routine that will be used for the competition. The routine will be choreographed to the skater’s favorite and consist of the skills that they are working on in their class. These competitions are a fun and encouraging way to introduce an individual to the more competitive side of figure skating.
